Tinsukia, 16 May: In a significant move to embrace
the digital era, the Miao Diocese of East Arunachal Pradesh officially launched
its website today at Kristu Jyoti Niwas, Tinsukia, Assam. The launch coincided
with a special gathering of all priests of the diocese to assess its progress
as it enters its 20th year since inception.
Presiding over the launch, Bishop George Pallipparambil SDB
of Miao emphasized the importance of communication in the modern world.
“Communication plays an important role in our daily life and in this internet
age, it is important to have our own social media presence. This website is
surely a step in that direction,” the Bishop remarked.
The newly launched website, www.miaodiocese.in, offers a
clean and user-friendly interface. It features dedicated sections that
highlight the history of the diocese, provide details of its officials and
mission centres, and present biographies of its bishops, including a section on
the founding missionaries, Servants of God Krick and Bourry.
Bishop George expressed hope that the website would serve as
more than just an information portal. “I hope this website not only connects
Miao with the rest of the world, but also becomes a tool that offers an
authentic source of information, spreads messages of peace and hope, and
carries the message of salvation to all,” he said.
The website also includes integrated social media links to
platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, aiming to reach out to young
people and inspire them to engage more actively with the Church.
The launch marks a milestone for the Miao Diocese as it
strengthens its outreach and communication in the digital age.
