Diocese of Miao (DOM), established in the year 2005 with Bishop George Pallipparambil at its first Bishop. It is also
registered society that ensures that the above mentioned three registered societies function well to bring the desired
growth and development of all the people in the eight districts of East Arunachal Pradesh.
There are animations for youth and women held across the DOM throughout the whole year. Special emphasis given on the values
of peace and forgiveness, mutual acceptance and respect for others at all camps and seminars held. The youth are also given
career guidance and made aware of the ill effects of drug and substance abuse. Youth groups and women have organized many
rallies against drug abuse and for peace in Arunachal Pradesh. Over the nearly 20 years past, Miao Diocese has contributed
much to the people of east Arunachal Pradesh and there is still much needs to be done.
To help further this outstanding growth of the Diocese of Miao, the Holy Mother Church appointed Salesian Priest Most
Rev. Dennis Panipitchai as Auxiliary Bishop of Miao Diocese in 2018. He has been great source of spiritual support to
everyone in the Diocese since his Episcopal Ordination on August 2, 2018.
The Bible teaches us to pray for the rulers and all in authority. “First of all, I urge that supplications, prayers,
intercessions and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for the rulers of states, and all in authority, that we may enjoy
a quiet and peaceful life, in godliness and respect.”1 Timothy 2: 1.
In accordance with the words of the Bible dawn-to-dusk prayers are offered for all in Arunachal Pradesh, especially the
leaders of the society and the State and for all the civil servants that peace and harmony will prevail in the State.
The prayer team in Miao sits in prayer for 12-hours a day from 7am to 7pm, praying for the various needs of the people.
A lot of miracles too have been reported as result of prayers in the Adoration Chapel, located below the Christ the Light
Shrine, Miao. You can also send in your prayer requests for your friends, family, for yourself and for everyone you with
to pray for.
Along the journey of Miao Diocese, there is a visible accompaniment of God’s guiding presence. He has blessed the Diocese
with many priestly and religious vocations from within the Diocese. There are three Priests and 48 professed Women
Religious from Miao Diocese working within the Diocese and working as missionaries in India and outside the country.
Within the next five years, the number is expected to double as there are many candidates for religious vocation are
under formation.
The story of Miao Diocese is a miracle. What was once considered a forbidden territory has now a place of God’s abundant
blessings. We thank God for his accompanying presence “fire by night and smoke by day” along the journey and place on
record our sincere gratitude to all the pioneers who toiled hard to prepare the ground to make a fine vineyard for the
Lord for His Glory.
