Neotan, 12 October 2025: Newman School, Neotan, joyfully celebrated its Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years of fruitful service in the field of education and faith formation. The entire celebration was filled with joy, gratitude, and a deep sense of pride, as priests, religious, staff, alumni, students, and the faithful of Neotan Village came together to thank God for His abundant blessings.
The programme began with the blessing of the statue of St. John Henry Newman, the patron of the school and the Educational Wing of the Miao Diocese, symbolising the school’s mission of integral human formation. A Solemn Holy Mass was then celebrated, offering thanks for the past 25 years and invoking divine blessings for the future.
special moment during the celebration was the felicitation of the first teachers, founding fathers, and past pupils, whose sacrifices and vision laid a strong foundation for the institution. Their invaluable contributions were gratefully acknowledged, highlighting the collaborative spirit that has shaped the school’s journey over the years.
The day’s celebration was further enriched by a vibrant cultural programme, featuring songs, dances, and skits presented by the students. These performances reflected the cultural richness of the region and showcased the talents nurtured through the school.
In his homily, Bishop George beautifully captured the spirit of the day, saying, “The celebration today is indeed a day of thanksgiving and gratitude to God for what He has been to the whole people of Neotan Village through this school.”
The Silver Jubilee celebration was not only a moment of looking back with gratitude but also looking forward with hope, as Newman School renews its commitment to continue its mission of forming young minds and hearts in the light of the Gospel.
